They are much, much calmer and more approachable than green tree frogs, for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My adult frog Evan loves to hang out with me \u2013 maybe because I\u2019m warm \u2013 and looks at me pointedly when he wants something. I have spent time socializing him, and he seems happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Life span<\/strong>: 6-9 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Size<\/strong>: 1-1\/2 to 2 inches, females generally larger than males<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Song<\/strong>: Sometimes startlingly loud for a 1.5-inch creature, but infrequent and really funny sometimes. Highly variable timing. Delightful, really, since they don\u2019t do it too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Appearance<\/strong>: They do change color. Very light almost white to very dark almost black.
